How to Choose the Perfect Honeymoon Destination

How do you start planning the trip of a lifetime? There are so many expectations riding on your choice of honeymoon and so many options.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by all the alternatives it’s time to sit down with your fiancé and think carefully about what sort of trip you’d like. These five steps will help you pick your dream destination together.

1. Start by writing down all the different types of trip which appeal to each of you. Your ideal honeymoon might be two weeks in a luxury island resort, a cruise, rainforest hideaway, skiing holiday, diving trip, beach, safari or sightseeing holiday.
2. Next list all the places you would like to visit, near and far. Don’t rule out other possibilities just yet though.
3. Now it’s time to do some research. Visit your local bookshop and browse the travel section, ask friends who have been to some of the places you’re considering and browse the internet.
4. Lastly, visit a good local travel agent at a quiet time of day and describe every detail of the kind of trip you are looking for, including how much you have to spend. They are sure to be able to recommend all sorts of spectacular destinations, many of which you may not even have considered.
5. And finally, it’s time to make your choice! Have a good read of all those travel brochures, do a final check on the internet and make your decision. Bon voyage!
